Putting The Law of Attraction into Action
The law of attraction is one of the universal laws.
Universal laws are laws that operate in the spiritual world just as physical laws, like the law of gravity, work in our physical world.
We've discussed the basics about how the law of attraction works here. It works in our life constantly, whether we are aware of it or not.
The basic principle of this universal law is "That which is like unto itself is drawn", more simply stated as "like attracts like".
Okay that sounds fine, but what I always want to know is what does that mean to me on a daily basis? How do I get from where I am to where I want to go? What IS "like attracts like" and how do I do that?
The three steps in creating the life you want to live seem simple enough. They are:
In many ways, the Ask part of this equation is the easiest. We are asking for what we want constantly, not just through prayer or formal requests to the universe for a particular thing or situation, but also through our thoughts and desires.
When we see or think of something that we love and would like to have in our lives, the "rocket of desire" as Esther Hicks (of Abraham Hicks) would call it, is sent out. We want this. Our thoughts about this object or situation that we want have already been sent out to the universe.
That sounded easy, didn't it? Well it is that simple, but there is a small catch - if you really want something specific, you need to be clearer than just liking it here and there in random thoughts.
You need to distill your thoughts about this situation you want to create, or this thing you want to bring into your life, until it is very clear.
For example, if you feel you need more financial abundance in your life, instead of just thinking "I sure could use more money" crystalize those thoughts until you have a very clear idea of exactly what it is you want. Here are some examples of more defined thoughts about attracting more abundance into any aspect of your life:
"I really want an extra $1000 per month coming to me."
"I want my business to grow to an annual income of $200,000 per year."
"I want to attract a loving partner into my life with the following characteristics...".
"I want my relationship with my children to be peaceful and harmonious."
"I want to own a new red X car by the end of the year."
That's the beginning. Be as specific as you can.
If the law of attraction worked just by thinking of what you want, we would all be living in our own self created paradise. So there must be something else to add to the mix. There is. It's called belief.
You MUST believe that Creator or the Universe, whatever you prefer to call that Source greater than us, wants to provide this dream to you.
So many of us get bogged down by our own thoughts of worthlessness or unworthiness. Thoughts of "I couldn't do that" or "That would never happen to me" get in the way of our belief.
The truth is that God loves each one of us equally and wants us each to live a life of joy and fulfillment. Often times we feel far from that state of happiness and contentment.
How do you begin to believe you are worthy? You can start with using some daily affirmations.
In her book Ask and It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires Esther Hicks provides several exercises that help us to turn our minds in the right direction.
It starts with identifying how we are feeling right now. Once you identify where you currently are it is much easier to see where you want to be and get there.
We open the door to possibility when we come to the place where we believe that what we want is truly achievable.
